Support Order Suspensions
You can be suspended for violation of a support order (child or alimony) issued by the court. If you fail to comply with the court order, the Department of Health & Human Services will notify the Department of Motor Vehicles to take suspension action.
1. Provide a written Notice of Compliance originating from the Director of the Department of Health & Human Services in Lincoln, Nebraska.
2. Pay a $50.00 reinstatement fee. Payment must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order made payable to the Department of Motor Vehicles or online with MasterCard, Visa or Discover. When submitting payment, include identifying information (i.e. name, date of birth, license or social security number and current mailing address). Payment submitted by personal or business checks or not for the required amount will be returned.
If the Notice of Compliance for the Department of Health & Human indicates you complied with the terms of your Support Order prior to the effective date of suspension, the reinstatement fee will not be required.
